Vision Statement

Bassett Healthcare Network's Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program envisions a program that will provide an integrative training platform to new nurse practitioner providers, helping them to confidently and proficiently serve as a primary care provider in a complex health care arena. Our desired outcomes for this program include improved job satisfaction for the new nurse practitioners, as well as current health care providers and support staff, as they are able to participate in the educational process with the residents. The program's ultimate goal is improved global health of the communities we serve by expanding access to quality health and wellness services.

Mission Statement

The mission of Bassett's Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program is to provide new nurse practitioners with the depth, understanding, and intensity of training to clinical complexity and high-performance primary care in the service setting of a complex integrative rural health center, leading to competence, confidence, and mastery as a primary care provider team leader and to improved health outcomes for the patients they care for and the health system as a whole.
