Bassett Medical Center's Interventional Cardiology Department Recognized Among Best in New York State for Patient Outcomes

Cooperstown, NY — Heart disease is the leading cause of death in New York and according to statewide data, Bassett Medical Center’s Interventional Cardiology Department’s risk-adjusted mortality rate (RAMR) for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is significantly lower than the statewide rate. Simply put, patients who come to Bassett Medical Center with blocked coronary arteries that need to be opened through interventional procedures like coronary stenting are seeing stellar outcomes.

According to data released by the New York State Department of Health, Bassett Medical Center has a risk adjusted mortality rate of 0.72 for all cases (See table 3).
