Valley Health Services Receives $15,000 Community Foundation Grant for Purchase of New Equipment

Bassett Healthcare Network’s Valley Health Services has recently partnered with the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties to support the organization’s safe patient handling program.

The $15,000 investment from the Wesley and Marion Small Fund of the Community Foundation will help Valley Health Services purchase lift and transfer equipment used to safely lift and transfer bariatric patients.

“This generous funding advances our safe patient handling program,” said Lisa M. Betrus, MBA, LNHA, President of Valley Health and Valley Residential Services and Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Bassett Healthcare Network. “This is vital to the care we provide every day for our residents.”

Valley Health Services is a 160-bed, long-term care and rehabilitation facility that has been a major health care provider and vital community asset of Herkimer, NY since its founding in 1984.
