On Sunday, August 24, Bassett Healthcare Network’s Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Residency Program celebrated its latest group of graduates at a ceremony held at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown.

The Class of 2025 is made up of seven FNPs and two of those clinicians have accepted FNP positions at Bassett Healthcare Network. Rebecca Louch, FNP-BC, will practice at Bassett’s Cobleskill Health Center, and Danielle Gibbs, FNP-BC, will practice at Bassett’s Richfield Springs Health Center .

Participants in the FNP Residency Program work as full-time Bassett Healthcare Network employees for a year while taking part in precepted clinical sessions, weekly sub-specialty clinics, chart rounds, rotations, and other learning opportunities. The program aims to provide new FNPs with experiences that will allow them to confidently serve as primary care providers while providing Bassett patients with additional access to care, through these trained medical professionals.

The program is the largest rural-based nurse practitioner residency program on the east coast. It runs from September 1 to August 30 of the following year.
