Bassett's New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) has announced they have been awarded a Hazard Abatement grant for over $185,000 from the New York Department of Labor. This amount is notable both because of its size (it is about twice as much as they received last year) and because it is the full amount they requested.

NYCAMH uses hazard abatement funds from the Department of Labor every year to provide onsite safety training on farms across New York State. By traveling to the farms themselves, NYCAMH can maximize the number of attendees while also fitting trainings to the specific hazards on a particular farm—be they tractors, large animals, sun exposure, orchard work, and more.

Upon announcing the award, Members of the Hazard Abatement Board praised NYCAMH's "outstanding in performance year after year," calling the organization "decidedly meritorious."

Congratulations to our colleagues in NYCAMH for this show of confidence in their work!
