Bassett Medical Center Welcomes First Year Residents

Bassett Medical Center’s Graduate Medical Education program welcomed 28 interns on June 18, 2025 into its three residency programs: Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Transitional Year. This year’s intern group represents medical school graduates from nine countries.

The interns spent six days learning about Bassett and their roles as practitioners, community members, team members, colleagues, and teachers to Bassett's medical students. Their orientation sessions were a combination of lectures, computer trainings, team building, skills lab, and hands-on simulation exercises. Simulation exercises took place at the Active Learning Center at Bassett Medical Center and at the Clark Nursing Simulation Lab at Hartwick College. They started their first rotations on June 26.
