A.O. Fox Hospital and Cobleskill Regional Hospital Receive Five-Star Cleanliness Ratings From Becker's Hospital Review
June 26, 2025This spring, Becker’s Hospital Review, a national medical trade magazine, granted two of Bassett Healthcare Network’s hospitals a five-star rating for cleanliness: A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta and Cobleskill Regional Hospital. The announcement marks A.O. Fox’s entrance onto the list while Cobleskill has held the distinction since 2024. Only five other hospitals in New York State were included.
“Cleanliness is a fundamental part of ensuring our patients’ safety and wellbeing,” says Cailin Purcell, Interim Vice President of Operations at Fox and Service Line Vice President for EVS Dietary, Lab and Radiology. “We are indebted to the members of our Environmental Services Team as well as the Compass One who manages our Environmental Services. It takes hard work, dedication, and attention to detail to keep a hospital clean. Our teams have those – and we don’t take it for granted.”
Becker's arrives at its ratings by analyzing patient survey data collected by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal regulatory body that tracks hospital data. CMS collects patient surveys (known as HCAMPS) at hospitals across the country, providing objective data for analysis on a national level.
Both hospitals have been celebrating the Becker’s recognition since they received the official notification. Staff at A.O. Fox held a gathering in May, pictured below. Cobleskill Regional Hospital employees are planning an event later this month.
