Bassett Healthcare Network is a progressive, academic health system in Central New York state, and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University. We provide care and services to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles. The health system includes over 500 employed practitioners, five hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, community and school-based health centers, a research institute, and other health partners.
Bassett has a total of 82,500 annual emergency medicine visits with the highest volumes at Bassett Medical Center, our Level III trauma center in Cooperstown, NY. System-wide, a staff of 25 employed physicians and 23 advanced practice clinicians provide coverage for six emergency departments with a combined bed capacity of 70. Bassett Medical Center is a STEMI Center & Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center.
