Breastfeeding Basics Class
This is a single, two-hour, online class designed for families who are interested in breastfeeding / lactation.
Confident Beginnings: Newborn Breastfeeding Class
The class offers introductory information on breastfeeding basics, including the indispensable qualities of colostrum, your baby’s natural instinct to nurse, the properties and benefits of an asymmetric latch, and lactation management during the Golden Hour, early days, and early weeks of baby’s life.
With videos and discussion, we will explore how to get breastfeeding launched for you and your baby!
If possible, plan to attend a class early to midway through your third trimester (weeks 30-36).

Classes Meet on Zoom
Participants must have access to Zoom on a computer, tablet, or cellphone with internet, video, and speaker capabilities. All classes meet from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Kate has been working in the birth and breastfeeding world for more than 30 years, first as a labor support doula, then providing breastfeeding support and becoming an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, and finally as a labor / delivery / postpartum nurse.
Since 2019, Kate has been the lactation consultant at Bassett Birthing Center.
