On May 2, Bassett Healthcare Network team members were among nearly 200 officials from hospitals across New York attending Upstate University Hospital's "Respect and Heal" Conference at Turning Stone Casino in Verona.  The goal of this conference was to promote safety and respectful treatment of caregivers in healthcare workspaces.

K-9 Hudson and his partner, Officer Rober Meiser, performed a drug detection drill on stage and a panel of experts, including Andrew Zuk, Director of Security and Transporation, and Sheila LeMaster, Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Friends of Bassett spoke on the benefits of utilizing K-9 officers in a healthcare setting, the ways in which Bassett Healthcare Network's unit is operated, and how the unit is funded, largely through the Friends of Bassett's philanthropic support.  Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions, one of the largest supporters of our network's K-9 security team, was also a sponsor of the "Respect and Heal" conference.

"The insights shared were a powerful reminder that creating safe, healthy work environments takes innovation, dedication, and collaboration across disciplines.  From real-world success stories to practical implementation tips, this discussion highlighted just how effective these programs can be," shared David Theobald, DNP, MS, RN, NE-BC, President and CEO at Davin Healthcare.
