The Cancer Services Program of the Central Region, covering Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie, Madison, Herkimer and Oneida Counties, offers breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings for uninsured and underinsured men and women.

There are no income guidelines to be eligible for screenings through this program. Our program primarily focuses on women between the ages of 40-64 and men 50-64, however if you are not in that age bracket and have a family history or signs of our covered cancers please give us a call.

We also provide enrollment to the Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program, an insurance program for both men and women diagnosed with breast, cervical, colorectal, or prostate cancer.

    The Mobile Screening Coach

The Bassett Cancer Institute’s custom mobile cancer screening coach is equipped with a full access patient exam room and offers the same high-tech digital mammography available at Bassett Medical Center, close to home. The RV-type medical coach and our fully-trained staff travel to community locations throughout Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie, Madison, Herkimer and Oneida Counties providing mammography and other cancer screenings for men and women.

Images are read by a radiologist at Bassett Medical Center within 24 hours. The mobile coach is linked to your health center via UNITY, Bassett’s electronic medical record system. This allows your primary care provider fast access to your results and assures coordinated, comprehensive care.

In addition, the coach’s self-contained technology and exam room enables staff to perform additional types of cancer screenings, including cervical cancer screenings, Pap tests, and colorectal cancer screenings.

If a lack of health insurance or insurance with prohibitive co-pays is stopping you, or someone you know, please call us at 1-888-345-0225 to schedule your appointment.
