The Sidney Levine Planned Giving Society A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital Foundation

The A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to introduce you to the Sidney “Sid” Levine Planned Giving Society. No one has played a greater supportive role in the recent history of A.O. Fox Hospital and the Oneonta community than Levine. His dedication to the community was outstanding. Some of his accolades include serving as President of the Jesse Smith Dewar Foundation; a founder and Chairman of the Future for Oneonta Foundation; President of the Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Salvation Army Building Fund, the YMCA Building Fund and the City of Oneonta Safety Board -- all these are among his many contributions. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Chamber of Commerce, Outstanding Citizen from Hartwick College, as well as Master of the Good Name from Temple Beth El, of which he was a founding member.

Sid Levine raised millions of dollars for A.O. Fox Hospital, and was a founder and Chairman of the A.O. Fox Hospital Foundation Board. The Fox Emergency Room was named in honor of Sid and his wife Smitty. He left a generous bequest to the hospital upon his death in 2012. In the words of his daughter, Cheri, “he was a real mensch.”
