School Nurse Symposium to be Held in Cobleskill on April 16

The Rural Health Education Network of Schoharie, Otsego and Montgomery (RHENSOM) counties invites area school nurses to a School Nurse Symposium. The event is set for 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., April 16, at the Champlin Lounge at SUNY Cobleskill. Nurses will receive a complimentary buffet and will be provided with information on self-care and adolescent health topics.

Kate Grant, D.O., from Bassett Healthcare Network, will speak about sports-related injuries and present “Concussion Management.” Norine Hodges, executive director of the Schoharie Council on Alcoholism & Substance Abuse, will discuss the growing problem of teen substance abuse. Closing the evening will be Jeanne-Marie Havener, Ph.D., Hartwick College, director of nursing, who will present “The Evolving Self: Living a Happier and Healthier Life.”
