Healthy Communities By Design: Workshop and Forum

The general public, local officials, planning board members and elected officials of villages, and towns are invited to meet Mark Fenton, a national public health, planning and transportation consultant and a former host of the “America’s Walking” series on PBS. Mark will provide presentations on healthy community design and how it can be achieved to provide safe routes to schools, development of trails and walking/biking routes in communities. Mr. Fenton will discuss the economic, environmental and public health benefits of designing healthier neighborhoods and how people can get started to make positive changes in their communities.

On Wednesday, October 14th, a presentation on Healthy Communities By Design: Economic, Environmental and Public Health will be held in the Okun Theatre, Farrell Student and Community Center, SUNY Delhi at 6:30 PM.

Thursday, October 15th, Building Healthy Communities an open forum will be held from 12:30 to 2 PM at the Okun Theatre, Farrell Student and Community Center, SUNY Delhi.

The Healthy Community by Design Workshop and Building Healthy Communities Open Forum are presented by the Cornell Cooperative Extension Rural Healthcare Alliance of Delaware County in collaboration with SUNY Delhi, Bassett Healthcare Network O’Connor Hospital, Bassett Healthcare Network Tri –Town Regional Hospital and Delaware County Public Health.
