Greene Health Center Joins Bassett

March 24, 2015

knickBassett Healthcare Network has expanded its primary care services in the southern region to include the rural Chenango County village of Greene, NY. Dr. Marjorie Ketzak has transferred her family medicine practice in Greene to the Bassett system, which also allowed for the expansion and modernization of the clinic. Construction is complete and the newly renovated facility will become a Bassett practice April 13. An open house with tours for the public is planned for Thursday, May 21 from 4- 6 p.m.

“This is an exciting time for us at the Greene Health Center,” said Ketzak. The demand for quality primary care has continued to grow in this community and I am thrilled to be able to help meet the health care needs of the families living here.”

Ketzak originally established the primary care center in her hometown of Greene in 2008. Last year, she reached out to Bassett for help expanding the practice. In addition to renovating the facility in Greene, Bassett has added another provider, doubling the capacity of patients who can be seen in that location.

Lindsey Knicklebine, FNP-C, a native of Greene, has joined Ketzak in the practice, making the Bassett Healthcare Network – Greene Health Center a five day per week clinic. Ketzak also sees patients at Bassett’s Sidney Health Center and will continue to split her time between the Greene and Sidney clinics to further promote primary care accessibility in the region.

“I am thrilled to be able to practice in my hometown, especially as there is a strong need for primary care in rural areas,” said Knicklebine. “Primary care is very important in monitoring chronic diseases, managing the acutely ill and providing preventative care to the community we serve.”
The Greene Health Center is located at 29, North Chenango St., Suite A. Bassett will lease the space from the building’s owner, Greene Community Services, a local philanthropic community group. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Ketzak or Lindsey Knicklebine, FNP-C, please call (607) 875-4334.
