Save those seeds

iStock-589117638.jpgYou may be tempted to toss the seeds when carving a pumpkin. But consider toasting them instead—toasted pumpkin seeds can be a healthy snack. Here's how to make them:

1. Rinse off the pulp and strings.

2. Apply a nonstick cooking spray to a baking sheet or drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the seeds.

3. Spread the seeds on the sheet.

4. Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until lightly toasted.

5. Season with your favorite spices, like garlic powder or Cajun seasoning, and enjoy!
