• Bassett Hosts Summer Junior Volunteer Program

    Bassett Medical Center

    May 13, 2019

Do you know a teen who’s looking for something fun and meaningful to do this summer? Applications for the Bassett Medical Center Junior Volunteer Program are now available. The program is focused on students 14 years of age or older by July 1, and requires a commitment by the student of two days a week (minimum of four hours each day) for the duration of the program (exceptions will be made for family vacations). The 2019 program dates are July 8 through Aug. 22, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Students will volunteer in various areas of Bassett Medical Center. In the past, junior volunteers have been scheduled at guest services, volunteer office, cafeteria, mammography, security, nursing administration, women’s health, environmental services, ophthalmology, and emergency department.
Interested students will need a completed application with parent’s signature, recommendation letter, working papers, along with required proof of immunizations and PPD test, submitted to the Volunteer Office at Bassett Medical Center by June 8 to be considered. Space in the Junior Volunteer Program is limited, so interested students should be encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

To request an application or for more information, contact Barb Tarka at the Volunteer Department office at 607-547-6691 or email barbara.tarka@bassett.org.
