If so, Bassett Medical Center is now accepting applications to the Junior Volunteer Program, for students ages 14 to 17. Students will gain useful work experience and learn about some of the services provided at the hospital and become an important part of the health care team helping others.

    Details include:

    • The hours volunteered can be counted for community service hours.
    • A student commitment of two days a week, minimum of four hours per day, for six of the eight weeks of the program.
    • Program begins July 10 and runs through Aug. 25. July 10 is mandatory education, plus there is a requirement of a PPD the same day between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
