Community Relations & Fund Development

News

The Community Relations & Fund Development staff are very involved with the local community and Friends of Bassett. From serving on committees with the Herkimer Chamber of Commerce to engaging with such organizations as Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley, we create visibility of our services as well as support the great work of other area organizations.

Some of the areas where we are involved:

  • Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends
  • Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley’s Health Care initiatives
  • Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee
  • BOCES – Herkimer/Oneida County School to Work and Regional Program of Excellence
  • Herkimer County HealthNet

Events

Valley Health Services’ Community Relations & Fund Development department sponsors several fundraising events annually to benefit the Development Fund.

Annually in June and the largest of our fundraising events is The Magic of Herkimer, which features musical entertainment, a Chinese auction, wine, ale, specialty hors d’ oeuvres donated by area restaurants, and honors a member of the community. This event helps us to support our programmatic objectives including cardiac rehabilitation and palliative care.

Another annual favorite is our summer Food Truck Frenzy! To ensure this is a family-friendly event, there is an array of delectable cuisine providers, activities for children including face painting and a stilt walker/balloon twister, and musical entertainment for your listening pleasure. The day after the food truck event is our resident picnic complete with theme, great food, music and activities for residents, families, and staff to participate.

Annually in the fall, Valley Health Services and The Stanley Theater team up to bring a renowned entertainer to the Stanley stage with proceeds benefiting both not-for-profit organizations.
