Unit Secretary-Emergency Department-Per Diem

The Unit Secretary performs secretarial/clerical duties associated with department requirements. The Unit Secretary meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff. Prepares and compiles records on the patient care unit. Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff.  Participates in performance improvement activities.  Maintains Federal and all regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures and standards. The Unit Secretary must be able to organize and handle a multiple task environment while maintaining excellent customer service skills and a calm demeanor.

Per diem position with variable hours

Requirements:

Position requires extensive standing, bending, and walking.

Ability to push/pull up to 50lbs and lift objects of up to 50lbs is occasionally required.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Experience

Previous experience in a healthcare related position, preferred.

 

Skills:

Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent LFH positively in internal and external meetings is required.

Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office products
