Food Service Worker I-Per Diem

Under the direct supervision of the Food and Nutritional Services Director, Dietary Manager or Supervisor, the Food Service Worker provides meal assistance to all patients on a daily basis (including meal selection, service and retrieval). Accurately serves food and beverage to patients in accordance with the patient’s diet prescription.  Provides meal assistance to cafeteria patrons and adheres to all cash handling, safety and sanitation guidelines.

Variable hours


Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.

Frequently lift objects weighing 35 pounds.

Works in hot and cold internal environments


One year of previous experience, required.


Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.

Written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent LFH positively in internal and external meetings is required.

Strong time-management and organizational skills are required.

Must be able to perform simple math calculations.
