Assistant Nurse Manager-Inpatient Unit-Full Time

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) assists the nurse manager overseeing the daily operations of the inpatient unit and ensures that the entire nursing department runs smoothly and effectively in providing quality patient care. Ensures that all patients receive proper and efficient care. Provides coaching and counseling to staff about any problems or concerns they have and helps to address staff issues or concerns that can affect job performance.  Assists with education and training of staff to include orientation, staff scheduling and other administrative support.  Assess, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care from admission to discharge according to unit policies. The ANM serves as an example to staff members of Little Falls Hospital values. The ANM is able to effectively manage the teamwork concept and is responsible for immediate problem resolution to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. The ANM is able to perform general nursing duties.


Key Benefits of this Position:

Day position with occasional weekends


Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.

Ability to lift, possibly heavy lifting in support of patient positioning, instrument and equipment handling.


Associate Degree in nursing required. Will obtain Bachelor’s degree enrolled within one year of hire/transfer  and completed the  program within 3 years.


Three (3) year RN Acute Care experience, required.

Previous charge nurse or management experience, preferred



Current NYS licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, required.

BLS Certification, required

ACLS Certification, required

Nursing Certification in Medical Surgical, or Geriatrics, preferred.


Excellent motor, hand, eye, coordination and manual dexterity required.

Ability to handle and operate equipment, read, retains and comprehends written and oral medical and technical information.

Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent LFH positively in internal and external meetings as required.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Strong time-management and organizational skills, required.

Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills, required.

Previous leadership or management experience, preferred.

Previous experience with digital medical records technology, preferred.
