Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops treatment plans, and recommends physical therapy services with the goal of maximizing the patient's level of functioning and independent in daily life activities according to principles and practices of the profession.  The Physical Therapist is responsible for documenting services rendered and participation in ongoing evaluation of quality care by the department.  The Physical Therapist is competent to provide services to patients from birth to adult geriatric.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university, required.


Previous experience as a Physical Therapist, preferred.


  • A valid temporary permit or license granted by the New York State Department of Education, required.

  • BLS Certification, preferred.


  • Must be capable of understanding and carrying out prescribed therapy services as requested by physicians and/or midlevel providers.

  • Strong attention to detail, precision, and commitment to accuracy are essential.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent Cobleskill Regional Hospital positively in internal and external meetings, required.

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, required.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking, as well as frequent lifting, kneeling and bending.

  • Ability to transfer patients to various surfaces, required.

  • Ability to push/pull and lift objects of up to 75lbs, required.
