Nurse Leader, Operative Services

The Nurse Leader provides leadership and oversight on an assigned shift and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process.  The Nurse Leader assesses plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs at the expert level.  The Nurse Leader contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork, assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statues and state and federal law, and provides leadership support to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor.  The Nurse Leader assists the Director, Outpatient and Operative Services with elements of planning, organizing, controlling, climate setting, leadership, and operational duties.

Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm


Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors preferred.


  • 2 years nursing experience required.

  • Previous demonstrated experience in charge nurse or leadership role, required.


  • Current NYS licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, required.

  • BLS Certification, ACLS, and PALS required.


  • Excellent motor, hand, eye, coordination and manual dexterity required.

  • Ability to handle and operate equipment, read, retains and comprehends written and oral medical and technical information.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent CRH positively in internal and external meetings is required.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Power Point.

  • Previous experience with medical records technology, preferred.

  • Strong time-management and organization skills, required.

  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills, required.

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.

  • Ability to lift, possibly heavy lifting in support of patient positioning, instrument and equipment handling.
