Valley Residential Services Receptionist (Evenings & Weekends)
The receptionist’s role is to provide clerical tasks on behalf of the Administrator/Case Management Director at Valley Residential Services. The receptionist must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and have the ability to work effectively with residents, family members, and personnel and support agencies. The receptionist must be a high school graduate or GED. The receptionist must maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, typing and distribution of correspondence, reports, audits, forms, interoffice memoranda, surveys, forms, P.O.’s, policies and procedures, and other related materials of a confidential nature; open, sort and distribute all incoming mail for staff and residents; process the Administrator’s instructions for distribution or filing of his/her mail, including the preparation of extra copies required for distribution; maintain a list of addresses for family contacts, volunteers, medical staff, etc.; responsible for screening of and maintaining a log of all telephone calls; answering telephone calls and greeting/directing visitors; assisting with evening activity programs; maintaining and keeping current the Safety Data Sheet Manual for the facility; and, attending all required in-services and following all department and facility policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment. The receptionist must create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
The Rehab Receptionist’s role is to provide clerical support for one or more departments as directed and following all current standards for federal, state, and local guidelines. The receptionist must be a graduate of an accredited business school, possess excellent computer skills, and it is preferred that the candidate have experience in a health care facility.
Reporting to the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the receptionist’s tasks include answering incoming telephone calls for the Rehabilitation Department, as well as the main telephone line. The receptionist will schedule all outpatient rehabilitation appointments and handle billing issues or patient questions; prepare daily charges on all rehabilitation residents and outpatients seen; prepare daily statistics on residents, registrants, and outpatients receiving rehabilitation services; have the ability to photocopy records including insurance information for rehabilitation residents, registrants and outpatients; type letters, memos, policies, and statistics; collect and manage co-payments from all outpatients and remit to the Business Office; create new forms for use by the Rehabilitation Department, as requested; acquire physician prescriptions, care plan, doctor signature, patient medical history, and radiology reports; and, make new patient charts for all new outpatients, residents, and registrants. Receptionist will also cover as the Rehab aide, as required, and must keep NYS NA Certification current. The receptionist will also answer and direct all incoming calls on the VHS main switchboard to the appropriate party. Receptionist must maintain confidentiality of all resident/patient care information.
Licensed Home Care Services Agency, Register Nurse (LHCSA RN)
Valley Residential Services’ Register Nurse (LHCSA RN) reports to the Director of Clinical Services, and the primary purpose of this position is to utilize the resources available within the community to plan, organize, and direct home care services to meet the needs of the individual and families within their homes. Tasks include (but are not limited to) completing a Home Health Aide care plan, supervising HHAs on site at a minimum of every sixty (60) days, ensuring all clients are treated fairly, with kindness, dignity and respect, reporting staffing needs to supervisor, performing quality assurance audits, initiating/developing new LHCSA policies and procedures, and assisting the Director of Clinical Services with daily EH, ALP and LHCSA tasks, as needed.
The LHCSA RN must possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse with two (2) years’ experience of which one (1) year was in the provision of home health care services. This individual must exhibit excellent observation, problem solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. The LHCSA RN must hold a current valid, violation free NYS driver’s license.
Multi-Departmental Secretary - Nursing
The Multi-Departmental Secretary must have excellent computer skills, clerical aptitude, and customer service abilities. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Multi-Departmental Secretary’s focus is to provide clerical support and receptionist duties for the Nursing Department. Having a range of responsibilities, including ordering stock, making copies for nursing, such as fax cover sheets, investigative reports, benefit sheets, etc., filling fax machine, unlocking doctor and nurse practitioner offices, ensuring there are admission packets and blank applications available, and sorting labs by unit. The Multi- Departmental Secretary may also report to other departments, as directed.
The Multi-Departmental Secretary must follow current standards for Federal, State, and local guidelines and maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care and employee information. The Multi-Departmental Secretary must follow HIPAA and HIV regulations. It is preferred that the Multi-Departmental Secretary have experience in a health care facility and be a graduate of an accredited business school.
Business Office Support
The Business Office Support staff person's primary focus is to assist with the clerical operations within the Business Office of Valley Health Services. The position seeks to serve residents and their families to address their business office related questions and/or concerns. Reporting to the Controller, the Business Office Support candidate is responsible for HIPAA compliance in accordance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations for the facility, for the purposes of billing - including policy development and implementation. This staff person will ensure that all facility policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the course of the business day. Additional responsibilities include making daily bank deposits and delivering mail to the Post Office, as scheduled and/or needed. The Business Office Support staff person is the liaison between the business office and upper management. The Business Office Support staff person will be cross-trained in an effort to effectively complete all Business Office functions.
Educational experience for this support role must include an Associate Degree in Accounting, Medical Office Technology, or a related field. Working knowledge must include knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment, math, English, and computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word. The Business Office Support staff person must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions, work independently with minimal supervision, be capable of using independent judgement, and maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care and employee information.
Dietary Aide is a part time position responsible for serving meals, setting up meal trays, food carts, and the dining room. Dietary Aides will portion out salads and desserts, as well as clean tables, refrigerators, the wait station, and assist with other daily dietary cleaning responsibilities. Dietary Aides must assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance to established policies. All other duties as assigned.
Two available shifts: Day shift (6:00am – 2:00pm), and Evening shift (3:30pm – 8:00pm).
Dietary Server opportunities are available for both part time and full time positions. Dietary Servers are responsible for serving meals in a restaurant style setting, and setting up the dining room. Servers will portion out salads and desserts, as well as clean tables, refrigerators, the wait station, and assist with other daily dietary cleaning responsibilities. They will also set up snacks for the Café. Dietary Servers must assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance to established policies. All other duties as assigned.
Two available shifts: Full time (7:00am – 3:00pm), and Part time (4:00pm – 8:00pm).
RN Relief for a Per Diem position to alternate coverage on 3:00pm – 11:00pm, and 11:00pm – 7:00am shifts; responsible for supervising a 160 bed SNF. Candidate must possess a current NYS RN license. Long-term care experience preferred. Must be able to work independently.
Home Health Aide (HHA)
Duties include administering personal care, assisting with daily activities, and helping to maintain a safe and clean environment. Candidate must possess a current NYS Home Health Aide Certification, and be able to work independently.
