Bassett Healthcare welcomes new resident physicians
Bids farewell to departing residents
COOPERSTOWN, NY – Bassett Healthcare welcomes 30 new members to its resident physician staff today, while 30 members will depart to continue their medical training or begin their medical practice. Four of the new physicians will train in general surgery; 17 will train in internal medicine, and one in pharmacy. Nine will complete a transitional year, a clinical year in multiple disciplines, which helps physicians select their specialty.
Bassett Healthcare has been a major teaching hospital since 1927, and has been affiliated with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University since 1947. Bassett is also a major teaching affiliate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Albany Medical College, University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Bassett is also a major clinical affiliate of the Albany-Hudson Valley Physician Assistant Program and the Daemen College Physician Assistant Program in Amherst, N.Y.
