Center for Advanced Vascular Care

Bassett’s Center for Advanced Vascular Care offers the skill and expertise of four board-certified vascular surgeons specially trained in surgical and endovascular techniques and a wide variety of preventive, diagnostic and treatment options for patients with vascular disease.

The experience and skill set of the surgeons, combined with the sophisticated technology and diagnostic tools available at Bassett’s Center for Advanced Vascular Care, enable the group to offer patients an individually tailored approach to care where multiple options are considered when treating the disease process.

The Center for Advanced Vascular Care at Bassett Medical Center offers expertise in the following areas:

  • Venous disease including varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), phlebitis and lytic therapy for DVT
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • Stroke and carotid artery disease
  • Leg pain and arterial disease
  • Vascular access for kidney failure patients on dialysis

In addition to the services provided at Bassett Medical Center, vascular services are available in Canajoharie, Cobleskill, Hamilton, Herkimer, Little Falls, Norwich and Oneonta.

Vascular laboratory services are offered in conjunction with Bassett’s Department of Surgery. Six registered vascular technologists and one licensed practical nurse staff Bassett’s vascular laboratory service, which was recently reaccredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories. Laboratory testing includes carotid artery duplex scan, ankle pressure index (API)-physiologic study, treadmill stress test, arterial duplex extremity tests, venous duplex scans and abdominal duplex scans.
