Foster Is Bassett Ambassador
Cooperstown, N.Y. – Patients have always been the main priority of Bassett Ambassador Lynne Foster, whether working as a clerk in the radiology film library or in her current work as a technologist assistant in radiology. She has worked for the past three years as a tech. assistant and loves it, because it allows her to personally assist and interact with patients all day long.
Bassett Medical Center’s Ambassador Program recognizes staff members who consistently demonstrate core values of quality, respect, service, integrity and friendliness.
“She has a way about her that puts a smile on your face or makes you feel at ease. Patients are her number one focus and she is always willing to lend a helping hand to her coworkers,” said Vickie Richards, Foster’s former coworker of 10 years and good friend from the file library.
In an Ambassador nomination letter, radiology nurses Carrie Stockwell, Cherrie Michalak, Nancy Chandler and Nancy Hardy praised Foster’s excellent service to radiology patients. “She is empathetic and respectful to all and is particularly comforting to our elderly patients. In addition to her interpersonal skills, she helps keep the unit running smoothly with her organizational talents.”
“I do a number of tasks to keep the patient flow going smoothly because patients come in from all over - - outpatient, inpatient and the emergency department - - for scanning appointments.” And because of Foster’s excellent customer service skills, she has been chosen to be her department’s “service coach” - - to be the champion for service excellence in her department.
“Lynne is definitely the person I would want my loved ones to be taken care of by,” said Michael Boland, CT coordinator. “There is nothing she wouldn’t do to help someone out.”
“I am proud to work at Bassett; it’s a nice place and I’m part of a good team,” said Foster, who was born at Bassett.
Foster keeps busy in her Richfield Springs home with her family and enjoys tending her gardens - - vegetable and flower - - and has been having success growing dahlias from seed. She also makes a mean salsa with peppers that she grows and roasts by hand on her grill.
