Dialysis Teaching Day 2010
Cooperstown, N.Y. – Area nurses, patient care technicians and other health care providers who work in dialysis are welcome to attend Dialysis Teaching Day on Sunday, Sept. 19, from 7:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Oneonta, 5206 State Highway 23.
This one-day program, hosted by Bassett Healthcare Network, is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of nurses and other health care providers who care for dialysis patients by providing them the opportunity to explore current topics in the management of renal dialysis patients. Dialysis patient care technicians may elect to attend a four-hour review class in the morning designed to help prepare the technician for NY State certification.
The conference will cover the following topics:
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Quality of life for end-stage renal disease patients
- Home dialysis
- Estimated dry weight, aiming for accuracy
- A day in the life of a dialysis patient care technician
Conference registration fee: $85; or a group rate of three or more at $75 each. Fee includes conference packet, continental breakfast, buffet luncheon and continuing education certificate for 6.5 contact hours.
