Cooperstown, N.Y. – "Of all the jobs I’ve had in my life, this job is the best so far," said Bassett Ambassador Luanne Clapp. "The docs and my co-workers - - I really feel like we’re all family, and the patients are an extension of this family. To all of us at Oneonta Health Center, the patients come first." Bassett Ambassadors consistently demonstrate core values of quality, respect, service, integrity and friendliness.

Clapp has worked at Bassett Healthcare Network – Oneonta Health Center for seven years, starting out as a patient service associate and currently as team leader. She is also responsible for registration and scheduling areas, and keeps co-workers trained and up to date on new changes in billing, registration and other workplace procedures.

"Luanne epitomizes service excellence at Bassett, whether serving a colleague, a patient or clinician," said Sue van der Sommer, her manager. "Her dedication to our patients has made a true difference at 125 Main and our institution."

"I’m very humbled that I’ve been ed as a Bassett Ambassador," said Clapp, "It’s an honor but I just feel I’m doing my job."

Clapp and her husband David, who is a retired police officer and currently the supervisor of campus security at Hartwick College, have been married 35 years and live in Oneonta. They have two grown children - - David is a sophomore at Elmira College and daughter Peggy and her husband Eric live nearby in Walton with their two-year-old son Joey.
