Bassett Hires Diabetes Management Program Coordinator
Cooperstown, N.Y. – Diane Cusworth, M.S., R.N., formerly Otsego County’s director of Public Health, has joined the Bassett Healthcare Network to oversee Bassett’s Diabetes Management Program.
“Diane has a great deal of valuable experience in the public health sector implementing and evaluating various public health programs,” says Dr. Amy Freeth, the endocrinologist who led the effort at Bassett to establish the Diabetes Management Program. "Diane’s skill set will be put to good use as we continue to expand our efforts to improve diabetes care and management in the eight counties Bassett serves in central New York.”
Cusworth is enthusiastic about the opportunity to impact such a serious health issue. “The costs of diabetes, in terms of dollars and a person’s quality of life, are staggering. Bassett’s work in this arena and in the area of diabetes prevention is exciting. I look forward to helping expand the program through the Bassett Healthcare Network,” Cusworth said.
As coordinator, Cusworth will be responsible for the planning, implementation and ongoing oversight of Bassett’s Diabetes Management Program.
