Bassett Announces St. Johnsville Health Center Expansion
Cooperstown, N.Y. – Bassett Healthcare Network’s St. Johnsville Health Center is undergoing an expansion at its 8 Park Place location, adding nearly 1,500 additional square feet to the center and adding a new physician assistant to the practice. Nicole (Wicksell) Higgins, RPA-C, recently joined the St. Johnsville Health Center and will see patients of all ages along with family medicine physician Dr. Luke Handy.
Higgins will also see patients on a limited basis at Bassett’s Gloversville Health Center.
“We are pleased to welcome Nicole to our growing practice in St. Johnsville,” said Dr. Handy. “She is very familiar with the region, has a broad-based medical background and brings new enthusiasm for providing quality health care to area families.”
Higgins, who completed her undergraduate degree at State University of New York at Oswego, recently completed a Master of Science in physician assistant studies at Albany Medical College. She has also worked as a volunteer fire fighter and emergency medical technician.
When renovations are complete, the size of the St. Johnsville Health Center will be doubled and will include a larger, more spacious waiting/reception area, two new exam rooms and a new entranceway - - with the goal of making the patient experience more comfortable.
