Ways to Give
Individual Giving
By making a financial contributing today to the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network Annual Fund or by designating your gift to a special initiative or fund, you help determine what sort of health care resources will be available to our families tomorrow and beyond. Your support also will affect the quality of physicians who train and practice at Bassett, and the quality of medical research that will be conducted.
Foundations
National and regional, private and public, foundations are an important source of grants that help support Bassett's regional health-care programs and services, as well as its medical education and medical research. The philanthropic support of foundations to the Friends of Bassett Annual Fund supplements the other forms of support enumerated in these pages while directly permitting new initiatives to take place across the Bassett system. For information on how you or your foundation can help Bassett assure that its accessible services and programs continue to help individuals and communities maintain good health throughout central New York, please contact Joanne Tobey, program manager, Foundation & Corporate Relations.
Planned Giving
Planned giving enables donors to make thoughtful investments in health care, and have a lasting impact throughout our communities. Gifts of cash, appreciated securities or real properties can be tailored to a donor's specific estate planning needs, thereby enabling a donor to enjoy significant tax benefits or lifetime income. Through sound gift planning, most donors discover they can give back to Bassett more substantially than they thought possible. Donors who include Bassett in a deferred gift plan are gratefully acknowledged through membership in The Cupola Society. The society was established to honor the foresight and generosity of donors who express their faith in Bassett's future through bequests.
Structuring a bequest or deferred gift requires careful consideration and planning. Usually the process involves legal documents that often require the assistance of a professional advisor to complete. The Friends of Bassett offers the services of a knowledgeable, objective and qualified professional planned giving consultant to help those who are interested in making a charitable gift. Free of charge, our consultant will be able to provide you with personalized information specific to your estate and charitable planning needs after you have talked.
