2011 Bassett New Year's Eve Gala

A tradition in Cooperstown for 18 years, the Bassett New Year's Eve Gala is a spectacular way to ring in the New Year. This year is particularly special, as we honor Dr. Michael S. Gold, long-time surgery chief at Bassett Medical Center, and his wife, Renee.

 

The theme for the evening is Hollywood, and the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, where the Gala takes place, will be decorated to fit the theme. Room decor will represent such classic moves as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Casablanca, The Godfather, Some Like it Hot, and Dr. Zhivago.

 

You'll feel like a star as you enter the stately Otesaga on a red carpet while the "paparazzi" battle for your photo and fans press for your autograph. Your photograph will be taken by professional Frank Forte as a memento of the event.

 

 

The evening features a variety of entertainment, with music and performances by Doc Scanlon's Rhythm Boys and the dance troupe Chez-zam and their DJ.

 

Among the highlights of the evening is the Silent Auction, where you can bid on many exclusive items.
