RN Benefits at Bassett
-
Newly Increased Starting Salaries
-
Shift Differential Add-ons
-
Patient-Centered Care Teams - This concept is demonstrated everyday at Bassett Healthcare when nurses, physicians, nurse case managers, therapists and other care givers share their expertise at daily - often sit down - discussions focused on the best outcomes for our patients. Everyone is clear about the plan for the patient and the plan for discharge. We are all on the same page.
-
No Mandatory Overtime - Bassett uses the GRASP Acuity System to measure and predict nursing care hours required for each patient, as well as for predicted admissions. The predicted patient care hours required are compared with the nursing care hours scheduled. When more nursing resources are needed, float and per diem staff are assigned and adjustments to the schedule are arranged. Overtime is not mandated. Members of the nursing staff volunteer to solve most problems.
-
Guaranteed Tuition Assistance
-
Clinical Ladder for Career Development - A very successful element of Bassett's Professional Practice Model, the Clinical Ladder acknowledges and rewards nurses for increasing skills while staying at the bedside. Experienced nurses who are newly hired are placed right away on the ladder based on their experience and education. New grads start at the RN1 level and progress to RN2 at about 6 months. ( A highly experienced nurse with specific expertise may be hired at the RN3 or RN 4 ladder.) A promotion and increase in salary is available to the RN who demonstrates a growth in skills, leadership and a commitment to patients at Bassett. Baccalaureate prepared nurses are eligible for another promotion and salary increase as a result of experience, independence, significant leadership and project success.
