TENTH ANNUAL GOLF INVITATIONAL RAISES OVER $48,000

    The Tenth Annual O’Connor Hospital Golf Invitational took place on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at The College Golf Course at Delhi, the area’s premier 18-hole public golf course. The commitment and generosity of Invitational sponsors, golfers and guests enabled Bassett Healthcare Network O’Connor Hospital to raise nearly$49,000. New proceeds will benefit the hospital’s expansion of primary care and the hospital annual fund.

    Representing O’Connor Hospital, Dr. Carlton Rule, CEO,  said “we are most grateful to the new and returning event sponsors and golfers who make the annual tournament a success. Their support for O’Connor Hospital ensures quality healthcare for our community”.

    Arriving at The College Golf Course, each golfer received a bag filled with golf-related items, a bagged lunch, and golf shirts. Following a light breakfast, golfers teed up to play 18 holes. Later, golfers were joined by guests in The College Golf Courses’ Café on the Green restaurant for the awards presentation, which included a cocktail reception and buffet.

Tenth Annual Golf Invitational raises over $48,000

 

   Prizes awarded to the top eight Low-Net and top three Low- Gross teams, with top prizes awarded to Penny MacIntyre, Jim MacIntyre, Jim Krebser, and Jen Ruchar. These first-place winners in the Low-Net team category won a Vokey Wedge and a dozen golf balls. The second –place team representing Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care (Bob Escher, Jamey Novick, Bob Park, and Patti Canner) who won gift certificates to Dave Arehart Pro shop. Third net winners were Mike Ogden, Justin Hummel, Doug Truex, and John Bullis each receiving golf shoes.

    In the Low-Gross team category, Justin Marano, Brad Anderson, Thomas Lamport, and Frank Liberaty won first place and brought home gift certificates to the Dave Arehart Pro Shop. The second-place team representing Delaware National Bank of Delhi (Peter Gioffe, Paul Roach, Terry Mostert, and Eli Townsend) each receiving zip-up golf apparel.
