Greene Health Center Open House

March 11, 2015

green“I can’t tell you how happy I am that Bassett has welcomed this practice to the larger Bassett Healthcare Network,” said Dr. Marjorie Ketzak at a recent ribbon cutting and open house formally marking the establishment of the Greene Health Center as a part of Bassett’s network of primary care clinics. “It is so satisfying and rewarding to be able to provide primary care in the community where I was born and raised.”

Lindsey Knicklebine, a family nurse practitioner at the clinic and a native of Greene, said, “I am thrilled to be raising my family here. This is my home; it’s where I grew up.”

Most of the health center’s staff also lives in Greene. The practice officially became a Bassett clinic in April. The May 21 ceremony offered an opportunity for patients and the public to tour the health center and meet the staff. They also heard remarks from Bassett Healthcare Network President and CEO Dr. Vance Brown.

“I am a family practitioner by training,” noted Brown, “and I can tell you that this is the purist form of primary care practice there is. This is also one of the best parts of our jobs, the opportunity to assure high quality health care to potentially underserved areas.”

Gale Clinton, of Greene Community Services, thanked Bassett for its support of Dr. Ketzak, Knicklebine and expanding primary care services in the area. “We’re just as thrilled as all of you are about the affiliation with Bassett and we’re here to help.”

By renovating the clinic, and adding another exam room and a provider to the Greene practice, Bassett has doubled the capacity of patients who can be seen in that location.

The Greene Health Center is located at 29, North Chenango St., Suite A. Bassett is leasing the space from the building’s owner, Greene Community Services, a local philanthropic community group. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Ketzak or Lindsey Knicklebine, FNP-C, please call (607) 875-4334.
