Bassett's New Year's Eve Gala Raises Funds for Nursing Education

January 15, 2016

More than 300 guests joined the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network on the “Wild Side” at the 2015 Gala. The annual event raised more than $200,000, including $125,000 that will directly support the Nightingale Fund for Nursing Excellence. The gala live auction and raffles contributed nearly $28,000 of the total proceeds. The Otesaga Hotel hosted the event, while the band Chaser and DJ Sound FX provided entertainment throughout the night. The evening concluded with a magnificent fireworks display over the lake just after midnight.

As Joshua Truman, executive director, Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, observed, “We are very appreciative of the continued support from our sponsors for our Gala. The proceeds of this year's event will have a profound impact on our nursing program at Bassett. It is also the dedication and commitment of our volunteers that make the New Year’s Eve gala a great success every year.”
