Bassett New Year's Eve Gala Raises Funds for Women's Imaging Center

January 4, 2015

lynnOn New Year’s Eve, the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network hosted their annual fundraising gala at The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown. The event, “A Pink Tie Affair,” benefitted the Bassett Medical Center radiology department women’s imaging center. The Friends have been fundraising for the center since 2013, and the campaign goal is $1.5 million. The gala helped raise more than $140,000 for the campaign, bringing the total raised to more than one million dollars. The campaign is funding the purchase of new breast-screening and diagnosis equipment and will assist with the renovation of the existing facility in Cooperstown.

The Friends hosted 425 guests at the event, for which the hotel was decorated in themes of pink. Guests participated in an exclusive live auction that raised almost $16,000 in less than 25 minutes. The evening boasted an excellent dinner menu prepared by the hotel, and guests danced until midnight to music by Chaser, a live party band from New York City and the local DJ’s Sound FX. The evening concluded with a midnight fireworks display over Otsego Lake.

The Friends of Bassett extends special thanks to the event’s lead sponsors, NYCM Insurance and SEFCU.
