Friends of Basset's Development Mission
The Friends of Bassett is the philanthropic arm of Bassett Healthcare. The nonprofit organization raises private funds to help Bassett Healthcare improve the health of the people who live and work in its eight-county service area of central New York.

Gifts and pledges from individuals, foundations and businesses support Bassett Healthcare's regional initiatives, including those at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, 23 health centers in eight counties and Bassett affiliates, including Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill, and O'Connor Hospital in Delhi. The Friends also works to enlarge the Medical Education Endowment, which it established to advance medical education, one of Bassett's seminal missions.

Funds are raised through the Friends' Annual Fund, capital campaigns and annual special events, such as the Bassett Invitational, the Heart of the Matter patient education luncheon and the Bassett New Year's Eve Gala.
