Certified ophthalmic technicians and ophthalmic assistants screen patients, check eye pressures and complete calculations under the guidance of providers.

In addition to routine eye and vision exams, experienced ophthalmologists and optometrists provide examinations or referrals for the evaluation and treatment of many eye disorders. These disorders include retinal and corneal conditions, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye problems, macular degeneration, myopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.

Eyewear
Patients can have their eyeglass prescriptions ordered immediately following their appointments. Patients can visit the eyewear center without an appointment to have their eyeglass prescriptions filled by one of Bassett's two licensed opticians, or to have their eyeglasses adjusted and repaired. The eyewear center offers a large selection of prescription frames, ranging from Calvin Klein to Safilo for adults and Osh-Kosh to Scooby-Doo for children. Sunglasses are also available.

Contact Lenses
Patients can schedule their contact lens evaluations and fittings, then order their contact lenses following their appointments. Certified technicians also provide teaching and educations for new contact lens wearers. If you have a contact lens prescription from outside of Bassett, we can order those too!
