General Surgery Residency Programs
Categorical
Preliminary
- Two first-year positions are available. A second year position is possible
- Rotations closely follow those of categorical residents
- It is possible to emphasize areas of interest within the standard rotation as well as during the elective month.
- Effort is made to assist these residents desiring advanced subspecialty training to obtain positions if they do not already have one.
- Over the past five years, 40% of our preliminary residents have obtained further surgical training. The remaining 60% are completing their training in other medical fields.
