Who And What We Are:

Bassett Healthcare is a rural academic medical center committed to providing excellence in health care services, educating physicians and other health care professionals and pursuing health research.

Where We Are Going:

  • Become the leading provider of health services in the eight county region generally known as the Leatherstocking Region of New York State.
  • Regularly evaluate the health care needs and expectations of this population and, when appropriate, develop and modify services accordingly.
  • Provide high quality primary and specialty care services, excellent educational programs and sustain a vital research enterprise, all of which are targeted to address this region's general and unique health needs.
  • Maintain an integrated delivery system, which is preferred by patients and payors alike because of its geographical convenience, access, high clinical quality, superior service and cost competitiveness.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate our activities, seeking to improve the quality and cost of services provided.
