Through affiliation and partnership with local and regional institutions of higher education, Bassett Healthcare provides training and education programs in nursing, emergency medical services and the allied health professions. Students gain valuable, hands-on clinical experience in these fields while working alongside Bassett professionals using state of the art facilities.

Bassett Healthcare has developed a Multispecialty Surgical Physician Assistant Residency Program and trains physician assistants in surgery to have a well-rounded background in general and specialty areas of surgery. The duration of the residency is 12 months, with didactic and clinical portions throughout the year. Applications must be submitted by April 1, and interviews are conducted in May.
