The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital is an acute care referral center devoted to providing optimal care to the people of Otsego County and the surrounding counties. The Department of Psychiatry shares in this mission by providing a full range of mental health services.

The State of New York gives patients the right to "privacy and confidentiality of all records pertaining to the patient's treatment, except as otherwise provided by law or third party payment contracts." The Department of Psychiatry will strive to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained.

Appointments

New patient appointments are made by our Intake coordinator. Follow-up appointments will be made at the end of your visit.

We require a three-day advance notice if you would like to cancel your appointment. We do realize that some circumstances do not permit this.  Three no-show appointments will result in termination of services.

Outpatient Psychiatry - New location

The new Outpatient Psychiatry registration and appointment location is in the fieldstone building adjacent to the hospital on Atwell Road.  The most convenient parking location is the lot at the intersection of Atwell Road and River Street.  When you enter the main semicircle fieldstone entrance, the registration desk is past the information desk straight across the hallway.
