Experienced nurses who are newly hired are placed right away on the ladder based on their experience and education. New grads start at the RN1 level and progress to RN2 at about six months. ( A highly experienced nurse with specific expertise may be hired at the RN3 or RN 4 ladder.) A promotion and increase in salary is available to the RN who demonstrates a growth in skills, leadership and a commitment to patients at Bassett. Baccalaureate prepared nurses are eligible for another promotion and salary increase as a result of experience, independence, significant leadership and project success.
