Healthy Lifestyle & Fitness Program
Do you need to reduce your risk of heart disease?
Fox's Cardiac Wellness Program can help. With this program of supervised exercise and education, patients control their weight, increase stamina, reduce dependence on certain medications-and improve their quality of life.
Here's how it works.
After your physician refers you to the program, we thoroughly evaluate you to identify your specific needs. Then we build an exercise program around those needs. You'll work out with our exercise physiologists and registered nurses, three times a week, on a range of sophisticated equipment, from computerized treadmills to stair steppers. You'll also attend a series of classes that cover risk factors and how to correct them. One-on-one counseling, educational literature, videos and maintenance memberships are also available.
Is it for you?
The Cardiac Wellness Program is ideal for patients with angina, those with an accompanying diagnosis (like a pacemaker or valve replacement) and others who need to reduce their cardiac risk factors. It can also benefit people for whom musculoskeletal disorders prevent normal exercise. Patients who have had a heart attack or bypass surgery, however, should not engage in the program.
