Cardio-Vascular EEG Lab
The Cardio-Vascular/EEG Lab at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital provides quality, non-invasive services for the Greater Oneonta Community. Recently we installed a state-of-the-art, digital, GE cardiac and vascular ultrasound imaging and data storage system. This new technology greatly improves the diagnostic quality of our studies and permits the Cardio-Vascular physicians to view and interpret the exams from remote locations. In addition to our updated instrumentation, all our imaging technicians are now registered through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, the most respected credentialing body for ultrasonographers.
We have also upgraded our Electroencephalograph Lab with a new, digital Nihon Kohden EEG instrument. Electroencephalography (EEG) is the measurement of electrical activity produced by the brain as recorded from electrodes placed on the scalp. This study is performed to distinguish epileptic seizures from other types of spells, such as psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, syncope (fainting), sub-cortical movement disorders and migraine variants.
