Help with Healthcare Decisions

Sometimes patients, families and their physicians face difficult healthcare decisions-and need help in coming to a resolution. Fortunately, Fox can provide that help.

Our Ethics Committee is a group of physicians, nurses, social workers, administrators, clergy and community representatives with experience and training in ethics. If you can't resolve issues on your own-or with the attending physician, staff or hospital administration-you can ask to consult with these professionals. A committee officer will discuss the situation with you, and if necessary, three committee members will meet with everyone involved to explore all dimensions of the issue.

Perhaps most important, the committee doesn't take away your right to make decisions. It does clarify the legal, ethical and moral aspects of the issue-which often helps participants reach decisions that are acceptable to everyone involved.
